Err.....Prince Charles is actually the Queen's son. The Prince Consort is this guy (who is also Charles's father). The Dracula thing probably comes through Phillip's side of the tree, since he's essentially Russo-German (of Phillip's grandparents, two were German nobles, one was a Russian Grand Duchess, and one was the [Danish] King of Greece).

And I'm a semi-professional genealogist (all but board-certified, have done trees for others before).
And have a history degree.

I had no idea so much of Africa was in the british Commonwealth.

Also, when looking into the African countries involved (as an American I've not heard many good things out of Africa, I wanted to see if and how the Commonwealth was doing it's purported job of humanitarianism. [it is! Politicians that actually do something? Must be the queens fault]) I noticed the area seems to be stabilizing quite well!

I'm encouraged. Africa has a shitton of resources, and someone needs to dig them out and sell them off. Why not the africans themselves? Certainly better than colonial powers. Plus, I like seeing stability. Stability encourages food. Food encourages thought. Thought encourages innovation. Innovation encourages expansion. Therefore, Africa is the key to the stars! ...And hopefully it'll be a blow to racists who point out that Africa is the most unstable continent on earth MUST BE BLACK FOLKS GUH GUH GUH KKK

Well thank you, but how did you...oh, you're talking about the genealogy. 

My own family tree compilation is at a little over 1200 people now. I know all my ancestors back 3 generations (great-grandparents) and most of the branches back to at least 4th generation (some of the Volga German branches are fuzzy due to poor records. And Stalin).

I think the longest branch goes back to an Imperial prince-bishop in the Reichsabteien of Fulda, circa 800AD.

What do you usually charge?

I've never actually charged anyone, because I've done them as gifts for friends in the past. I suppose I'd just charge material costs (database subscriptions mostly). Would probably figure out a per/hour labor cost if I was doing it as a job, but I mostly do it for the love of the hobby.

Apparently my family clan (mac Neil or MacNeil) descends from a legendary (or perhaps mythical) High King of Ireland, Niall of the Nine Hostages.

After that, I don't really know.
