Yoga IS highly religious in nature, except us westerners kinda bastardized it into some sort of exercise program. What they're teaching there certainly isn't religious but it certainly isn't really Yoga either.

Surely religious origins do not denote religious? Martial arts and meditation for example do not promote Buddhism or Taoism.

I thought that the children had been physically transformed into little religious cavies. I was severely disappointed when I actually read the article.

That yoga thing isn't even a required course. Those children could have chosen not to take that course (although it probably was their parents' decision, not their own). So what, are the parents trying to sue themselves?

Sadly a google search turned up no images of guinea pigs dressed as priests which I could post in response. I did find one wearing a knight templar cape though.

The Spartans left what they thought were the weak ones. All the Greeks had this in some form or another; what differed was the reasons. An Athenian or Theban for example would probably do it if they wanted a son (girls were expensive - wedding dowries, and didn't carry the family name forwards).

Oddly enough "If you can't walk, try running" sounds more like a saying you would actually hear.

More than would, do. I've heard it personal used in reference to learning languages -- for some folks just flat out immersion from the start is more effective than working their way in, as an example. Hitting the ground running instead of starting off walking, et al. Sometimes if you've got some inertia behind you it's easier to stay moving than if you go slow.

'Course, it can also lead to stuff like going over a cliff on a bicycle you don't know how to brake but whatever!
