Things get even weirder when you remember that a Zippo is a brand of lighter, and his/her personal text is "puff puff". I can't tell if for smoking, against smoking, ambivalent about the whole thing, or what.

Yeah, Socrates was basically the opposite of a sophist and was maybe their biggest critic.

As for Alcibiades, Socrates didn't really have much to do with his shenanigans and pretty much denounced him. And I don't think Alcibiades was much of an oligarch either, really, just very self-interested. Socrates was pretty anti-Democratic, though. Dunno who the other two were.

Honestly though I just skimmed that article because it seemed to be saying "Look, most civilizations in history were oligarchies. And they were based on agriculture. Therefore Agriculture = Fascism."

It's not that unusual. The KKK are white nationalists, and that necessitates being nationalist as much as it does being white supremacist.

The WBC, on the other hand, protests the funerals of soldiers, including some white soldiers. I think you can imagine how this does not ingratiate them to the KKK. They've been known enemies for a long time.

Also, Fred Phelps participated in the Civil Rights Movement back in the day (yes, I know, I was surprised too).

I've heard (but take this with a massive grain of salt) that Fred Phelps is actually a registered Democrat. I thought that was pretty WTF-worthy at the time.
