Everyone hates League of Legends. Especially people who play it.
Yes. I have quit this game for an entire year at one point because I hate it so much, but social pressures dragged me back in eventually. I stopped playing almost completely over the last couple months due to a bunch of other multiplayer games coming out recently that people are actually willing to try, but have defaulted back to it over the last couple days. I'm actually enjoying it for the most part, but that will fade quickly.
Here's the thing about this game. Maybe 1 in 10 games will actually be a close match all the way to the end that's really satisfying and fun whether you win or lose. The rest are split up evenly between matches where you stomp in the enemy's face mercilessly, but it's so easy that you just feel "meh" about it and feel bad for the other side... or matches where you get stomped so hard that you feel absolutely worthless and playing out the full required 20 minutes induces nothing but aneurysm levels of explosive rage... and then sometimes your teammates are determined to play out those games and the enemy team is having fun toying with you and won't fucking end it. ARGH!
But somehow it manages to be goddamn addicting and everyone you know can be found playing it every single night.
Oh... and then there's Riot's business plan, which consists of putting out a new character every two weeks, even though they have a backlog of a fuckton million characters already that have yet to be properly balanced. The new champion is almost always extremely overpowered, encouraging people to pay real money to be able to play it immediately. They nerf this champion back to somewhat acceptable levels in the same patch that they release the next overpowered addition. Like clockwork.
