Y'ever had the suspicion that Amazon enjoys suggesting items that you would never, ever buy, where you never recall searching for anything of the type?

Yeah.

My favorite part is the implication that the Basque-English dictionary is something you would buy. You know, just in case you want to go to France and get beat up by French people.

Upon further examination, it seems to have offered it based on my previous purchase of a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs. Problem is, that was for a one-off (I go-well, went- to a camp for nerds that has a "Drag Day" tradition, and on my last year, just to go all-out, I cross-dressed as a dominatrix-sans riding crop, of course, those were contraband), and moreover, if I ordered them, they never arrived, because I don't recall ever getting a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs- some normal plastic ones were shipped, but didn't arrive until after camp had ended, so they were useless by then.


Well, I am a language geek, as well as a maths geek, so I did buy the Basque Dictionary when it was one cent plus shipping. Considering that also on my bookshelf are A Dictionary of Upriver Halkomelem, vols. 1 & 2, Beginning Cherokee, Sengoidelc: Old Irish for Beginners, and Complete Catalan, it's not all that unusual...
