Yeah, people have been speculating on mysteriously unexplained elements of backstory for forever.  This would be a good way to work that stuff in, and alleviate some of the flame wars over conflicting fanon.

"Get over their fetish"? The entire storyline so far has basically been made of war arcs. Even the 50-year "Cold War" arc had conflicts all over the place. I wouldn't mind something different though.

I wouldn't mind if they took out the whole mandatory sleep thing, it just takes up so much time.

I will say this: the network coding and graphics are nothing short of amazing. 7 billion+ players online at any given time, with barely a trace of lag. Considering that everything in the environment is an accurately-rendered, interact-able physics object and it's all in a single realm, it's pretty damn incredible.
