I am, to be perfectly frank, slightly prejudiced against the metric system, if only because the first person to really try to push it on me was a chem teacher who hated me with a fiery passion.

One day, just to troll her, I provoked her into a "debate" (rant) about the metric system, took notes, and used her "arguments" almost word for word to explain why the binary system is infinitely better than decimal.

On a different note, I wtf'd myself by forming the sentence "Buffalo police police buffalo buffalo police Police buffalo", based on the famous sentence made entirely of bisons.

..any sentence consisting solely of the word "buffalo" repeated any number of times is grammatically correct.

Saw someone confused by the concept of Co-ed sports in America...

I'll just fill in the info here... because apparently this surprised people...

In Canada and most of the US, by law... if you do not have both a male and female sports team... You MUST have a co-ed team period, OR just forgo having a team altogether. (this applies to Elementary, Middle, and highschools)

At least in Canada this means a co-ed team can join the school leagues available.

Mind you this rule is uncommon for popular sports like hockey and basketball, but it does happen. As well some schools just like having Co-ed teams (Mind you more common in elementary to have Co-ed teams even when engendered teams are available).

I've never heard of or seen a co-ed team competing in anything, even televised, ever. Even in highschool. I'm not surprised it exists, but it is extremely rare, far more than you're making it out to be, or at least in America, and there's no way you'd ever see any kind of high profile events for co-ed sports. I've seen lots of male and female sports, but no co-ed, sorry.

It is more common for the lesser played sports.

For example curling will usually be co-ed, or ultimate Frisbee. Every school where I live will at least have one co-ed team (more so for elementary where it isn't uncommon for all their teams to be co-ed)

Unless a school has a small population... Yeah you aren't going to get Co-ed Hockey, Basketball, or Soccer (Or Football I guess... but honestly Football is becoming increasingly uncommon... My elementary and Highschool didn't even have a football team... and many parents where I live actually go out of their way to say that schools shouldn't even have a football team.)
