Why would there be epic instrumental solos in an age where songs are sold on starpower? Sorry did I say starpower? I mean hotness.

I mean, particularly with piano. Needs singing to pull off a solo? We've got like 200+ years of musical tradition saying otherwise And especially in the last few decades they've had folks really trying to rock out on piano, doubly so on top of stuff a decent keyboard can bring to the table. Maybe not as part of the whole radio-consumption arena, but eh.

Percussion solo's a bit more difficult, but if there's anything most music I've heard just kinda' blow at it's doing percussion well. There's an incredible depth and breadth to percussion that goes criminally untapped, on the whole. Folks could be doing really jaw-dropping stuff with percussion, even if they just stuck to drums and didn't bring in the fancier stuff, they just... don't. For some reason.

... sounds good to me. Could use some more variety. Guitar's nice and all, but it's kinda' stodgy if you don't have someone incredibly good playing on it. It's no accordion. Other stuff's more versatile on average, basically, and that makes for more interesting -- dynamic, too -- music.

May the brass section reign supreme in the coming era. Or other string instruments (C'moooon fiddle!). Woodwinds. Percussion. Anything, really. I've had enough non-classical guitar, m'self. Not sick of it, per se, but it's been a while since I looked forward to hearing guitar. And if we're turning away from it, hopefully to the more interesting stuff... all the better. Might actually turn on the radio one of these days.

Let's be honest here. What we need is more cowbell.

Speaking of, fucking Common Time. I just plain don't get how anyone could thing that 4/4 all day erry day is anywhere near a decent meter for dance songs. That's a major part of the reason I don't dance (like, at all) - the music does absolutely nothing for me? Even 6/8, 4/4 old brother who isn't as hip as he used to be, is better.

I do dancing. Isn't much difference either way if you've got timing. For example, in the last show I did, 'Whole Lotta' Rosie' and 'I Love Rock And Roll' were both about as easy, although Rosie's general style was more entertaining.

Also, WTF is with these 'Cyberstreetwise' ads? I think they're trying to keep people safe by convincing them that the internet is where the souls of the damned live.
