EDIT: Ha ha! It worked. Seemingly, "https://" totally broke it but "http://" was fine. Not an expert on how URLs work, so I'm not sure what the science is behind that, but it's in the past now.

Also I do know what a barcode is, but I lack the motivation to print an imitation card to scan and am unsure if the  borrowing kiosks have an option for manual input of codes - and I didn't feel like asking.

If memory serves, "https://" attempts to use an encrypted protocol with the website, preventing anyone from snooping on your web traffic.

Just plugged my phone in, to give it a bit of battery in preparation for taking it to a phone repair place in the hopes of getting it fixed, and... it worked. The screen actually lit up in the usual way it does when charging from flat, and I'm like, "Hang on a minute wasn't the screen entirely broken a moment ago?"

So then I turned it on and sure enough, it is inexplicably working fine now.

I can't seem to change my avatar. Any address I put in the box besides the one for my current avatar causes the option to be reset to "no avatar".

Check that the address you're using is to the image itself and not just a page containing it. It should end in a file extension such as .png, .gif or .jpg for it to work properly.

Aye, I've been making sure it had the file extension on the end. I even tried different file extensions and different websites. :/

I put in a request for a new passport the other day, today I got the letter from the consulate that the two pictures I provided were not valid because they were already used for making my ID. Ok, but why then, am I able to use my existing passport picture when I'm making a new ID, because that's a thing that can be done if you don't want to make extra photos, they just pull your passport picture from the database and use that.

How the fuck does a system like that even come into existance??

here is something that has been plaguing me for a while but I finally figured out.
so my wifi adapter for my computer stopped working because windows 10 has slowly been ruining it (every update it got slower, I just thought it was comcast being awful) so now I need to revert to windows 7 (no cd drive on my computer, so fun) or I need to mess with it until it works and then mess with it more every time windows 10 updates (and I can't revert updates on windows 10 because it's a great OS)
