Nothin' illegal, they just donated a lot of money to fighting same-sex marriage (through their charitable foundation, so I bet they got tax write-offs for it, but that's another issue).

Basically the company's president is outspoken on the issue, and used his company to support his position.  Hey, that's capitalism, I just can't support said company in good conscience.  It makes me happy when other people boycott it too, but a lot of people also went to Chik-Fil-A specifically to support said agenda so meh.

...Yeahhh. I was fine not ever eating chick-fil-a but then one showed up in my town in the PNW and I made the mistake of "Oh the person who owns it donated a bunch to the local LGBT community I can try a sandwich."

Needless to say I have discovered I have poor self-control. The bastards.

Depends on what you're replacing it with, heh. For better or worse, they're probably one of the healthier fast food chains. Which is admittedly a bit like saying the cooler sort of molten slag metal, but... still.

And yeah, since the crap however long ago it was I've been avoiding the place, too. Not exactly a major thing considering about the only fast food anything I've gotten with anything approaching regularity for the last few years ("approaching" still being maybe twice in a month on the high end) has been (cheesecake) milkshakes, and I just didn't go unless I was driving and about to fall over for a long while before that, but I always did like their waffle fries thing.

Chicken's alright as fast food joints go, too.

Meh. I don't care about any individualistic "rights" movement, anyway. I've always preferred the broader picture to specific power-plays.

IMO it's a good way to be. If one gets invested in "I'm a feminist!" one all too often narrows one's argumentation to "anything not strictly pro-feminism is wrong." A broader view more comfortably sits dichotomies.

I don't think I've ever seen a Chick-fil-a in my life. I didn't even know what it was until ~six months ago.

But if the spicy chicken wanted to get married in a ham church, only one with a broader perspective will remain impartial enough to weigh the situation ethically. Instead of yelling "that ham is a sandwichist!" at every opportune moment.
