Perhaps I've become cynical, but my wtf was me watching an oldish YouTube video where the youtuber makes a basic motivational speech about living life to the fullest (I say basic because he didn't say anything new).

So I was reading the comments and it turns out that there was this guy, who I guess was hearing this speech for the very first time, got genuinely inspired by it and decided to ask his crush out. Ok, a bit weird, but here's the kicker. She actually said yes and now they're going to prom.

I guess I'm just cynical and lonely, but there's just something about this that gets on my nerves. I wish I had it that easy ::)

You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

Apparently last night thermometers hit 8C. Rio is not made for this kind of shit. People are not meant to live this way.

Winter. Eight degrees celsius is torture. I cannot fathom why people even live in frozen areas.

I'm with you. That sounds awful.
I dread to think what temperature it'll be when I get back to Melbourne in a couple of days...

It's even better if you get up early and can comfotably sit outside with a hot drink while the sun slowly warms you to your core.

I'd say that doesn't sound so bad, but you're warmth-adapted and it's probably humid as shit there, so I'd imagine you'd get something like one of those cold damp dreary days where the wind goes right to the bone. Those are always a lark.

... 8C isn't even freezing. It's in the forties, fahrenheit. That's jacket and pants weather, but not much else. Those days (the few we get) are a gorram blessing in florida :-\

Hell is most of the rest of the year, when the external temperature is pushing over the internal one. You can keep adding clothes when it's cold, and you've got that whole internal heater thing going on. You run out very quickly of clothes to remove when the air is trying to cook you, and your native cooling options try to kill you. Bring 8C. 8C is not 35+C. 8C you can live through with a nice jacket and good pants. 35+C not even being nude will save you.

Someone remind me to make fun of you lot when you are dying of heatstroke at a mere 30 degrees. Shirt and jacket my ass, I'm wearing two shirts and am still cold.

... 30's miserable, but livable. I didn't say 30 :V

And... maybe don't make fun of people dying of heatstroke when it's in the 90s (32-33+C) and 100s (38C and up), because, y'know. People actually die. Mostly elderly and younger folks, iirc. States have been losing 600+ people a year or thereabouts to heat related deaths for a while now.

You're a wimp Teneb, I lurve the cold. It gives me a chance to wear all that clothing I don't touch for most of the year, and its great for me, since I almost always wearing long sleeved shirts and a suit at work :v

I was listening to music whilst someone who was dealing with a breakup walked into the room today
so
Of course I was unaware.
I went to get my tea and when I came back, my playlist went from Franz Ferdinand "Take me out" to U2 "I still haven't found what I'm looking for."
This made the poor girl break down into tears and asked me to change the music
Next song was "Oy vey rebenue", so I quickly changed the song
"Don't walk away, I'll be right there". QUICK CHANGE AGAIN
"You're all I have" FUCKS SAKES SPOTIFY YOU'RE NOT HELPING
"I Loved You" MUSIC GOES OFF NOW
Turning off the music was a wise choice

Spaghetti everywhere
Thanks playlist shuffle

Oh man, this reminds me of that time last year in which me and my girlfriend were waiting for a bus at night after a night of eating junk food and watching movies at the local mall, and we started singing hakuna matata for basically no reason whatsoever. Turns out that, just a few meters of us, there was a gay couple going through what appeared to be a breakup, or a very tense relationship moment at the very least. So we basicaly unintentionaly sang a song about "LOL YOU SHOULD FORGET YOUR PROBLEMS" close to a person who was clearly suffering from some serious problems :v

Funny, but you made the mistake and assumed that I haven't already tried that. What's happened so far is that every time I ask someone out, I get rejected. I don't know why but I'm just an unlucky guy when it comes to these things.

The real wtf I guess is that someone actually took one of those motivational videos to heart, and that they managed to succeed.

A high official of NSA, Richard Ledgett, announced on a military conference last weekend, that NSA is considering to start using medical devices that are connected to the internet, like modern pacemakers, for snooping purposes.
So far, it's only a theoretical consideration, since the NSA "has more effective methods of spying on suspects", plus the NSA has no solution yet to the safety risks of creating a backdoor in medical devices, for "if we will be able hack into them, so will criminals.

So, if you have a pacemaker, it will not only keep your heart beating, but soon it'll also have a microphone in it to assist the NSA.
