Mining Labor turned off
« on: November 04, 2007, 02:36:00 am »

Strange bug I've just run into, thought it was a fluke at first but its happened again. Have my miners set to mine things, then I go off to do other things, come back to find they are sitting idle. I look at their labors and they have had mining turned off. Anyone else had this?

Edit: Same thing just happened with my woodcutters, who came on the map as cutters and I left as such, never touched their labors. After about a month they were sitting in my hall with the labor turned off, having dumped their gear.

I've only had the problem when I start a new fortress or reclaim an old one. All of the miners have mining turned off, but once it is activated it stays on.

I figured out what was causing it, I had set them into military units and assigned them weapons. If you assign a miner any weapon or a woodcutter anything but an axe, theyll deactivate their labor and drop their weapon.
