Dude, its much easier to just have a two-way split, that takes you to either of the two next stations.

It can be done extremely easy and works well enough to make the launcher and the track-switcher work on the same button.

Reaching the grand station line is great and all, but I would prefer the button setup.
Or maybe the button setup when not at the main station : O
Wha?

Not that I really care, I haven't picked out a town or anything.
No towns on jaycraft officially.
Will the main station be at the spawn?
Yes, I have started clearing an area, I will make the base level and then people (mainly LNCP probably) add to it to make it look nice.

I mean you have two buttons at each station, so you go left, or right.

from the next station, you choose again.

untill you reach your destination.

So, Electronics, when you inevitably go across water or large open spaces, will you just have the blocks supporting the tracks be free-floating, or will you actually build supports?

I'm going to hope for a supported bridge, with the opportunity to embellish/redesign them later.

Consideration how deep oceans are, good luck with that.

Well, sponges...or oph4x.

Or just extend the support down far enough to be in the water but not actually on the bottom.

They're not that deep. Considering you only have like 63 blocks to the bedrock from the water level, and it never gets that deep. Also they don't get deeper and deeper the farther from the shore, they sort of wave up and down and don't quite break into an island.

Just making a support is easy peasy: swim to the block you want your support in, dive straight down while hitting right button with cobblestone or whatever, then swim to the surface laying a trail of stone.

Our oceans have an average depth of 30 blocks.

Sponges work by removing a 5*5*5 cube of water - if you move the sponge, the cube moves as well. If the cube goes underwater, the water flows over it.

So, for the purposes of water, a sponge is a 5x5x5 block?

No.

A sponge is a 1*1*1 block.

It's coded so that when a sponge is placed in water, a 5*5*5 cube of water, centered on the sponge, is replaced with air.
