Personally what draws me to Adventure Mode is the promise of being able to be a treasure hunter/tomb raider in future. With artefacts made in worldgen, which is on the dev list. That would be awesome.
You can sort of do that now if you make a fortress with the express purpose of having a dungeon to explore...but, well, you know where everything is already. Incidentally, I think there's a succession game going on in the Fortress Mode forums with this in mind; each person gets to make one floor of dungeon or something? That would be cool to play in.

I really should may more attention to development.

That is EXACTLY what I want from adventure.

For now, the allure of Kobold'ing dragons to death is good enough. Plus, the lack of graphics means that my imagination plays a large part (i'm not too sure how to implement tilesets)
