Goblin Siege Clean Up
« on: September 30, 2010, 04:50:50 pm »

So yeh as the title suggests after the goblin siege smashes itself upon your adamantine shields, how do you go about cleaning up the mess? After my dwarves have finished dumping/melting the untold amount of crap the gobbo's bring the next siege is about to land. Is there any better way to play clean up?

Way more hassle than it's worth.  Let the iron rust.

Hmm? Magma's broken?

From what I've seen, only seems to make enemies/dwarves drown and not actually sizzle alive.

Ah. I'm in .12 i guess this is in a later version. Or you've got temperature switched off.

As a player of long term forts, I see the only efficient means of getting rid of goblin clutter to be deleting the tokens for extraneous clothing from their raws (requires regen).

That leaves only the metal stuff which can be sold or melted and reprocessed.

Also, consider having a large courtyard where you fight off the goblins. This way, you can close off the courtyard to gather the loot in safety.

the magma in my fort seems to burn trash and clothing just fine.  The other option is to build lots of small-scale trash compactors.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

I know it was bugged at one point--I had, for example, a cave ogre fall in a magma pit and have all its fat boil off very slowly before finally drowning, but that was in a rather old version, and I've had no trouble burning things up with magma in the arena.

Could you explain to me how to do this exactly? it'd be nice not to have to clean up 100's of clothes.

Goblin entity generally looks like this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Delete these tokens:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Mods that created "naked" goblins were common in 40d to help with clutter and fps, as well as decrease the exploity value of goblin loot.

Is this in 40d? I'm having trouble finding an entity file on .12
