The great spoiled suburban zone known as Metro Detroit, specifically Farmington Hills.

My grandparents live in Farmington, and I visit about once every 2 weeks... they're off Drake Road, between 12 and 13 Mile. I wonder if I know your neighborhood?

I live a good ways further south though. I'm just outside of Ann Arbor; if your right palm was a map of Michigan, it'd be about an inch and a half up from the middle of your wrist. My apartment is in the poorer sister city of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, but it's close enough to the University of Michigan that it's still home to droves of hipsters and spoiled rich kids.

It's a peculiar city, in that it's hilly and well-forested, but also well-urbanized. A great big river runs right through it too, and there are a lot of bridges and hydroelectric dams around. There are also tons of excellent ethnic restaurants, which is one of the many things I love about the area.

P.S. That makes 5 Michiganders by my count, all within about an hour of one another. At some point, hangouts must happen!

North Carolina. We have nice mountains and nice beaches. Although I think South Carolina beaches (Myrtle) are more popular.
