Ethan knows. Despite trying my best I've been figured out. Surprisingly enough, he didn't seem concerned about it whatsoever. I guess that means I'm lucky. After having to flee from Eriden, this ship is pretty much the only place I have to live. Still, it confuses me how he can just accept the fact that I've been lying to them the whole time. He even said that he already suspected it. Why did he not just throw me off the ship?

Still, I'll just be happy that he didn't tell the others. And more importantly, he still doesn't know I'm a changeling. Should things come to the worst, I'll still be able to flee.

In other news, we pciked up two new members for our crew some new members for our group. We found two people locked into cages in the bandit base, named Steelwall and Argentius. Steelwall seems pretty straightforward, a colosus of a man and swinger of a big sword. The other one, I'm not sure. He seems to be combination of an elf and a human, but there is something....weird to him. I can't quite place it, but there is something to him that seems almost divine.
We also took in one of the elves that fought us earlier. We could have turned her in for a bounty, but Mael insisted that she stayed with us. And now she's a member of our group. I don't know what to think of it, but these people seem to be more trusting every day I spend with them.

I wonder, how would the others react if I told them the truth? I'll keep my secrets to myself for now, but it almost seems that they would still accept me. And I'm so far from Eriden right now that it almost feels as if I didn't have to run away anymore. As if I was protected.

I will lay down now, the day has been tiring. I'll think some more about it tommorrow. And maybe I'll ask Ethan for some advice. He said that my 'spells' lack somatic components and that it makes my lies rather obvious.

What to report...

Our investigation of the cave revealed two allies-one of the Goliathfolk named Steelwall-whom I heard were allies of Dwarves-and a man named Argentius, who I think was some sort of wizard.

When we got to the bottom of the bandit cave, I was quite surprised-no epic battle, no heroic struggle. Just a Wizard who didn't really care what his guards did. He ran before we could do anything him...but, he did leave us a portal circle. We left after looting the place clean-we even caught a pale Elf maiden, whom I'm going to try to teach how to cook.

Anyway, our ship was headed to some sort of Tower, afterwards-I don't care for the details, except that we'll find a good fight there. I made my famous Beetle Egg Surprise, and everyone loved it. Except the Gnome.

Then...we ran into a BIG Dog in the fields, wearing some kind of chain-mail-and it seemed evil, not of this world-and it breathed fire, like a Dragon or a Demon is supposed to. It could have all but swallowed me whole-and it nearly did as much for the rest of our group. Ah, but none of us would find uncomfortable lodgings in the Hounds belly this day.

Since, for all it's bluster and bark, the Orc Maelrigar devastated the beast handily, before I could even get in range. No fell flesh or armor slowed his blows in the slightest. Before the creature died...I saw fear in its eyes.

I think it changed him, to destroy something like that-even an evil thing, maybe-but he killed it with such ease, no hesitation at all. What must be going through his mind...but, if he wasn't there someone might have died. It's clear he outclasses me a warrior-there is no shame in admitting it.

I must become yet stronger.

Today I meet more of the party I will be traveling with. Apparently a Elven Kin survived the battle. Although I have not seen a Elf before I had heard enough to know this one was strange. It was colored purple! My new companions also found this somewhat strange, although perhaps less so then I did. Still. The Elf was offered it's life for surrendering before I was freed. I am not sure if that was the wisest maneuver of my companions, but I was bound to their word... Although some of them seemed to suggest killing her anyway! Luckily cooler heads prevailed and she was left alive. Later it would turn out to be a great boon to us, as she knew where we needed to go next and was willing to exchange this information for a escort. All and all I am happy the Elf lives. We then meet another of the treacherous Dwarves. A wizard this time. Although he did not seem evil in of himself he was helping to make a spell that would allow the Underworlders (as I learned our enemies are called) to move their armies about with great speed. The wizard, although seemingly brilliant with magic, was a bit slow in the head. He was unable to tell us why he wanted to help the Underworlders, and indeed admitted that he was opposed to their final goal. Although they had nothing to offer him I was unable to dissuade him from his path before he got away.

After leaving the cave we came upon my companions conveyance. A large wooden structure that magically moves across the ground at greed speeds. Although I was nervous at first, even more so since some of them seemed unimpressed with it's ability to move us safely, in the end I found the great speed we moved at over the desert and planes quite exhilarating.

Although we were stopped on our travels at one point by a attack from some hell beast that spat fire. Apparently Maelrigar has a great enemy with beasts of fire and so it had tracked him down in a attempt to kill him. Although it was quite powerful and gave some of us, including me, grievous wounds Maelrigar was able to smite it's core with a sword that had been enchanted by a one of the small ones. The beast slowly dissolved back into it's lands and we discovered it had eaten a treasure trove. Much gold was split among us and there was even a ring. One of the small orc kin, kobolds, took a liking to the ring, although he had it stolen by a man who claimed to be a wizard. The poor little kobold started crying and the heartless wizard seemed to not even care. But we were able to convince him to give it back to the poor little guy.

I am unimpressed with some of my traveling partners...

Anyway, dat campaign. Have you tried duplicating the map with a different name to change the cache association? Alternatively, a new campaign file with just that map. This is SLOW. Also STUCK.
