Yeah, AC 2 I just walked up, double stabbed the first two, the other two go "hang on what" then get stabbed. I walk in, walk out, and i'm out of there before the nearest guard patrol gets there. Every time. Occasionally i'd throw a smoke bomb, run in, get it, run out before they recovered, used the people you can buy or the poison, but it was pointless when I could just "stab, stab, steal"

I only played AC2 for a few hours, and I think I still wasnt at the point where the "real killmissions" started. I ran around, was about to get my ass-clothes, I met leonardo, and basically I had a lot of fun getting to know the mechanics. It already felt like it improved a lot compared to AC1.

But how are the kills? Do you at least have different approaches to those, or are there still incredibly annoying cutscenes that usually blow all your stealth and put you right into the middle, usually kneedeep into shit?

I mean that REALLY bothered me in AC1, I had the feeling you could actually kill some folks without ANYONE noticing what was going on (which would cancel out the mandatory and completely forced chase afterwards... which would actually be the way it SHOULD be...), if it wasnt for those friggin cutscenes before the kill.

And what about asspro... forced ways to kill or at least some freedom there?

There's freedom, though I think there are still those odd cutscenes. I've been having great fun killing guards with the crossbow without them knowing I did it.

AC2 has a few cutscenes before kills.  The first one has you walk up to a guy in a party and kill him in plane sight but that was for personal revenge so it's understandable.  One has a guy perform a leap of faith to escape you, but by that point you've already dealt with his guards so it's just a matter of catching him.  AC games aren't really about stealth.  If you read some of the Codex pages in AC2 Altair implies that they killed people in public on purpose.  To make examples of them.

I think there are a couple of the main targets in AC2 you can kill and get away with it undetected. The bishop hiding in the monastery comes to mind. And the means and manner of delivery are a lot more varied too, and the chases aren't annoying like in AC1. You even have ninja-style smoke bombs for quick getaways, although I never used them much.

Hehe, my favorite part of that game has to be when I was sitting in a crowd listening to the bishop and his friend argue, with the bishop saying there is no god and all that awaits you is oblivion, and of course his friend is crying heresy at him, then while I'm waiting they walk right up to the crowd I'm in and , I go over to stab the bishop... and for the first time I do a double stab, killing both the bishop and his friend, which surprised me a bit, as I usually try to leave as many people alive as I can. Then of course when you're snuggling him he says "now we'll see who was right" and I'm just thinking, Yes, your argument is indeed settled.

Oh man. Multiplayer is amazing. My first match made me pissed, but I've enjoyed every match since then. Ignoring the fact that I've been looking for a game for about twenty minutes right now, multiplayer is awesome.

I'm waiting for The Void to download while I wait to play AC:B multiplayer!  I'm not sure which will be done first.  Anyone wanna be my alliance buddy?  I found out that team games give me way more points than wanted, and have less WTF moments that piss me off and make me shout profanity at my television.

I should still be playing this, haven't finished all those Subject 16 puzzles yet. Is it just me or did they make them ten times harder than in the first game?

Finished the single player pretty quickly.  It seemed slightly shorter than the last game somehow.

Yeah, it seems to me they put in all the side missions and optional stuff to make up for the shortness of the main story. I love the Cristina-missions and the Lair of Romulus in the Vatican (honestly, that was the best mission in the game) though.

I wish Monteriggioni in the modern day had more stuff, though. There's some old shit lying around and a conversation with Lucy but they could've included some more stuff IMO.
