With shedinja, can't you equip him with the item which forces a minimum hp of one if you are at full before the attack to make him invulnerable?

Not working on him if i remember,  shedinja can be killed easily by sandstorm, hail, etc. Also, fire fangs will always work.

Shedinja is a Pokemon that sounds totally awesome in theory but is completely useless in practice. Bidoof/Bibarel aren't bad, but are so ridiculous looking no one in their right mind would use them. Also, Defense Curl + Snore + Rollout can be anywhere from really annoying to absolutely devastating.

Just a heads up: between holiday shenanigans, brutal work schedule, becoming readdicted to DF, and other circumstances unrevealable at this temporal junction, there may be a dearth of updates for the next one or two weeks. Hopefully nothing too drastic, but I dunno.

I played that game pretty often as a kid, but I barely keep up in that discussion of moves.
I was pretty dumb to assume that the moves that did damage were the only useful ones,
 so all of my Pokemon only had four moves that did the most damage and virtually no status moves.
Except for sleeping and poison, which were obviously useful to me as at fifteen years old.

Because we kept playing the games. Due to their straight-forward nature, they make good games for challenge runs, generally replaying, and even the new games (not just the remakes) can bring a feeling of nostalgia (particularly if you're playing with Gen 1's and 2's Pokemon in your main party).

Not only that, battling online via emulators or the built-in wi-fi teaches you stuff.

Yeah, I never got into competative battling, I don't have the time or the level of interest needed for breeding and EP training and whatever all that crap is. I have played each generation of games (didn't bother with the remakes, though) at one time or another, because damnit, they're fun. Every time I think "oh, this time it will be repetitive and boring" but it never is. And trying to come up with epic move combo's and party combo's is just the best part. So that gives me a pretty good working knowledge, and bulbapedia fills in the blanks. Bulbapedia is so useful.

I've only ever trained a couple Pokemon on my games with EV training and breeding, but I have about 18 level 100 Pokemon on various games. Ever since my DS broke (need to fix that...) I've mainly been using Shoddy Battle and Pokemon Online to battle people with teams made out of thin air.
