You make another piece of DNA, using two pits of protein and energy. Also, you make some toxins and anti-toxins (in equal amounts) out of 10 amino acids and five units of energy. You have to burn a bit of glucose to make everything.

You continue down the shaft.

You can't tell whether it is bigger or smaller than you until you touch it.

Approach and release toxins towards it. If it's hurt by them eat it.

I wondered whether anybody would suggest the toxins.

(A bump? Really? It hasn't even been a day.)

You release some toxins at the thing and wait a bit. Nothing seems to happen.

Assuming that whatever it is, it has anti-toxins, you canabalize a chunk of fat and approach.

Huh. Turns out it was just a chunk of rock. And it seems to be attached to something.

Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, a cell tries to eat you. Since it is bigger than you, you dump all your toxins into it. It works much more effectively than before, and the cell is soon dead.

Neutralizing your toxins, you get three amino acids, 2 pieces of protein, 2 bits of glucose (One of which is burned) and 2 chunks of fat from eating the larger cell. You replace the toxins and anti-toxins you used (8 amino acids, 1 glucose and 2 energy.)
