Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

We haven't seen this game yet so I'll save my judgement for it instead of saying 'it's gonna suck'. It can never live up to 30 years of development time but it could be fun on it's own :P

Maybe I'm wrong... but when Duke Nukem 3D came out, it was cool beyond strippers, because it had shit like mirrors and ... a more 3d-ey feeling than all those shooters back then. It felt kinda revolutionary, and only the most shallow gamers would reduce the duke to his running-out-of-bubblegum and ass-kicking skills (and strippers).

It's kinda hard these days to release a revolutionary shooter. Maybe if you ship it with a real gun and multiplayer involves real deaths or something. But in the end... it will be just another shooter. Sure, it can be great and all. But not very innovative, I guess.

However, I love to be _pleasantly_ surprised. I wouldn't hold my breath, tho.

My money is on "if it ever comes out, it wont suck, but dissappoint".

People have tried this, but it didn't go over well with test audiences.

Well, it was also the first game to have floors.

Before that, every game(like doom) had a 2d map and it was impossible for anything to be above or below you.

You guys say every game that's coming out will suck.  You're like that Penny Arcade Comic where the guy complains about the unfinished strip except you complain about what you totally know is going to be in the blank third panel.

I for one will wait to see if it sucks or not.

Right now they are showing off the Football stadium stage playable, as seen in the 3DRealms version footage that was leaked out. Looks lik they're continuing on from 3DRealms work.

HEY! I'm not! I'm just saying it's almost impossible today to broaden the boundaries for shooters. That was all I said.

So much has been done, and, admittedly, I didnt think tooooo much about it, but I couldnt think of anything that would make shooters just as innovative today as DN3D was back then.

You know, if this duke nukem doesn't have abducted half-naked chicks to save (more like kill, if I remember my youth correctly), it will show how much game making got corrupted by over-protective assholes and publishers.

That's assuming it's not a 10 year long hoax. =p
