Playable Minotaur race

So i really want to play as minotaurs.  I did some searches for minotaur or tauren civs, but no luck, does anyone know if there is one out there?

If there is not, what sort of issues am I likely to run into modding these guys in?  My ideas so far are:

-Make them a little bigger than human sized, but make a caste of larger "feral" minotaurs.
-give them some unique weaponry, like warmattocks (large 2 handed pick type thing, can be used to dig and fight)
-maybe make some other castes that have elemental affinities, suck as Earthsoul Minotaurs with rock skin, Fire Soul minotaurs that have buring horns and so on.

any help of how to achieve these would be great.

If you're planning to make the "feral" caste actually feral as such and not part of the civ, you'd be better off making an entirely different creature.

I think he meant a caste within the nation. And many castes actually.

Also there're minotaur graphics around the place, you can use them.



To make a playable race is the same feat as to make a creature. You just make a minotaur creature with the said castes and then assign it to some entity.

For more details check Shaostoul's guide, how to make castes check a thread near yours, and if you have any questions just ask.

I've modded the Tauren on my game, but isn't finished. If you wish, I can post it here later.

I think that's all. It should be playable on Adventure mode.

I haven't tested it so much, so it may be not working properly.

Don't forget that you have to remove humans because they share the same entity name. Or change it (and ADVENTURE_TIER). Otherwise you will have duplicate errors which can crash game and make civilizations of purring maggots.

but who doesn't like a trade caravan that you can milk and then sell their own milk back to them?  it's the adamantine carp that you have to worry about.

So yeah, to clarify;

I want one minotaur race with variants from the basic form.

That Tauren civ might be really useful, thanks.

Not all that helpful but I do like the idea of a Minotaur race, I played plenty of Minotaur adventurers in older versions. It makes me think of this picture by Paul Bonner. He did a load of work for Citadel, mostly Orks, if you've seen any 40k art there is a good chance you've seen his work.

I thought I had made a post in a similar topic before.

As in that other topic you might want to add a new shape to descriptor_shape_standard.txt. With Minotaurs and labyrinths being closely related.
