Is that the Result of a Greek Jihad down there? :P

I guess the Byzantine would've done it because Holy war/Jihad Protection. Due to being able to call in like all of Europe to help.

Edit: Also F12 I believe takes snapshot of the map, with the Type depending on your current mapmode.

Yep, there's currently a crusade to retake Greece from the heathens actually. F12, in this case just took a screenshot. I think I have to ctrl+F12 just to get the map or something.

Conquer random doods until the Hordes arrive, leave the hordes alone until they are a very serious threat, then attack for the territories furthest away from you. Repeat until they are gone. Only attack if they can call the other into the same war.

Make Greek Arabia Irish. That's pretty much my end game goal in CKII. Irish Golden Horde, Irish Shia Caliphate, Irish Finland.
I can't even imagine how the hybrid language would turn out ... still nicer than Welsh I'd wager.

Woah, my game is wacky. The year is 1149.

France: Lost Aquitaine early in the game to the HRE. Then somehow got inherited by Aragon.

Aragon: Did basically nothing. Until it inherited France somehow. Now it's fighting rebelling frenchmen.

HRE: Exploding. Their ruler isn't very liked. They lost Bohemia and most of Italy near the start of the game.

Byzantines: Lost starting war, then started eating up neighboring Heathens (I also ate up some heathens in the Shia Caliphate. Yum). Somewhere along the way, they ATE the Shia Caliphate in it's entirety seemingly without a war somehow. Of course, THE MUSLIMS WERE STILL IN CHARGE OF THEIR TERRITORIES. As you can imagine, the former Shia vassals exploded. Of course, this helped me dispose of the current Byzantine empress and lower the Crown Authority. :)

England: King is a Heretic. England is obviously exploding as a result.

Nubia: Grew some serious balls and nabbed a territory stolen from them by the Shia Caliphate earlier in or at the start of the game while they were weakened.

Georgia: I helped some gal from the Byzantines on the throne. However, as a result she took her territories in the Byzantine Empire with her to Georgia. Oops, sorry! In other news, I managed to get my house on the throne there.

I control 219 Holdings. I think I can summon a levy of at least 5k.

I also think you seriously underestimate how hard those forts are at cracking. You need at least a 10-to-1 ratio of Attackers-Defenders to make an effective attack without loosing half my army in a single assault. Mercs are also incredibly expensive, and can drain your budget quickly if your not careful. Well, Unless you repeated use the cash cheat. But I'm not a complete cheating scumbag.

PS. When I said they had 2000 man garrisons, I meant that they had 2000 man Garrisons in ALL of their holdings.

Also of note, Catholic and Sunni religions have the lowest Authority in the game, while Orthodox and Shia(!) have the highest authority in the game.

I managed to set up a matrilinear marriage with the second in line for the kingdom of Norway. I then plot and murder the first in line, making my dynasty the future heir. Simple plan, right? What could go wrong?

The old goddamn king immediately gets deposed after I kill the first son and do a little celebratory dance. FML.

Ummm...

So, I have a Possessed daughter, right? And I've married her to two kings so far, right?

Well... they both died young in suspicious accidents...

I really do hope she's not killing everyone I marry her to. I mean, jeez, you've got to settle down eventually!

Edit: How fitting, the asshole of Syria assassinated her. Welp, there goes that source of entertainment.

The ruler designer DLC is only really good for one thing to me - starting off as the worst ruler ever, then still somehow managing to create an empire.

Start out as a weak, imbecile, inbred ruler and marrying another imbecile - followed by generations of making your relatives marry each other so that all these terrible traits and inbred keeps popping up in most of your family. Even doing all that, I seem to always end up with some gloriously epic family members that find their way to the throne and give me a few years of peace. I had two inbred imbeciles that were first cousins give birth to a genius child. He lived to be 80 and united a huge area before dieing off, but all his kids all turned out inbred imbeciles that all died young - and one of his inbred nephews with a lisp wound up inheriting the empire he formed (which quickly fell apart without the genius at the helm, but most of the pieces are still owned by inbred family members).

My latest goal is putting the entire world under the rule of a gigantic inbred family with every terrible trait I can give them, actively marrying everyone to close family members to keep everyone stupid and inbred. Maybe I'm weird, but I find stuff like that hilarious. Quite challenging too, since trying to keep a sizable empire going with a ruler that has 0s in all his stats isn't easy.
