Ah, crusades. Annoying as hell to actually do, but so satisfying when they reach their conclusion. Surprisingly enough, the AI actually did most of the work - I just tactically swooped in every now and then to make sure I had the largest contribution score. After 14 years of on-and-off bloody back-and-forth fighting, Jerusalem was finally back in the hands of the faithful.

My King then died almost immediately after getting the Kingdom - at last satisfied and at peace with God, I like to imagine, having reclaimed the land his grandfather fought valiantly but in vain to defend - and my superduke son (my wife had 5 HRE duchies, he inherited 4, nice) came into power. All hail William II, King of Sicily, Naples and Jerusalem!

Now I'll have to see if I can keep this rebelling mess together. Hngh. I've got to get rid of these gavelkind succession laws, atleast. It was pure luck my other sons got out of the way just in time for the heir to inherit everything.

For some reason, the d'Hautevilles changed color in the Dynasty View, unfortunately. I can no longer enjoy the grisly white stain across Africa, Italy and the whole of the Byzantine Empire, amongst other lesser holdings.

Childbirth is heavily dependent on the number of characters in a court.  Apparently if a court already has too many characters, mommy and daddy just won't have the privacy to get it on.  I'm guessing that's what caused her to have a sudden bout of fertility just before menopause, the neighbors upstairs moved out.

Childbirth for courtiers is dependent on the number of characters in the court. Landed couples can always have more children.

I also think that just before a woman turns 45 she get's some extra fertility or so. Not sure about that though.

There are the makings of a fascinating House struggle in Ireland. House Ua Briain (O'Brien) holds the royal throne from Bunratty, and the ducal titles of Meath (held by the Prince and heir-apparent) and Munster. But House Ua Ceinnselaig (Kinsella) has cleverly (and through marriage with my clan and good and faithful service) expanded out from Leinster to hold the Ducal Titles of Leinster, Connacht and Ulster and a claim on Meath. Thankfully the titles are split between different branches of their family, but I have to be wary...if they ever unite them through inheritance, the inheritant would no doubt attempt to usurp the crown of Eire. I've already had to put down the Duke of Connacht in repeated rebellions. Against my better judgement, I released him from prison on the advice of my bleeding-heart chaplain, only for him to immediately wage war on my son for the title of Meath. I finally crushed him once again, imprisoned him, and left him to rot. Sorely tempted to banish him, but don't want the relation hit with vassals (especially considering two of my dukes are his kinsmen).

Ideally, I'd like to have an excuse to work the Kinsellas out of their ducal titles and hand those over to my 2nd and 3rd sons.

If he's a traitor, you should be able to revoke his titles. Maybe not ALL his titles, I've heard that one-title traitorous vassals still cause a relation-hit with other vassals, even if it doesn't say that. But at least his dukedom.

You can't revoke titles at all if your Crown Authority is too low, though, if I recall correctly.

Yes but if he's been playing enough to have conquered Ireland and looking to expand into Scotland, it's probably at least medium by now. Or low. Whichever lets you revoke.

Yeah, I'm up to limited Crown Authority. I was able to revoke his Ducal title to Connacht, though I think he still kept the county title. I'd give the ducal title to one of my sons, but he needs some kind of landhold in the Duchy. Maybe a plot to revoke his county title...

One title. It doesn't matter how many titles the person has, you can revoke one title for free.

If the traitor dies while you are fighting him however, his heir will NOT be branded a traitor even though he will continue fighting against you.

Fun fact: There's a duchy of Lithuania, and a kingdom of Lithuania in my game. Another fun fact: They're fighting each other. Yes, this means Lithuania is fighting Lithuania for independence from Lithuania. Talk about confusing.

Now Lancaster decided "Fuck that" and is now declaring independence from France. Now half of England is at war with France yet again.

Also, Lucca is suicidal and declared a war of independence against the HRE. They only have one county.

Also, even the Turks all the way in Persia have a third of their empire trying to declare independence. This world is nutters, and it isn't even near the vanilla game end date.

Edit: ...What remains of France, and by extension southern England is now part of Scotland.

Edit2: Hungary is trying to take over the Byzantine Empire, the HRE is EXPLODING, and the Ilkhanate has arrived.
