'Forbid' Fail - Glitch?
« on: August 17, 2010, 04:03:04 pm »

I had a pretty smooth fort going.  Then I went through my stocks and started to unforbid food items because I was getting the message I didn't have any unspoiled food stuffs left.  This ended up being a big mistake since those food items didn't belong to me.  Apparently they belonged to a group of antmen.

Who knew?

Anyhow, I was wondering if that's supposed to happen, or if it's a glitch?  I mean, I hadn't even gotten down to that area really and my dwarfs might have stayed clear of them if they hadn't gone after their food.

Also, just recently, I had a message that one of my dwarves had entered a martial trance...when I used the zoom feature it said the dwarf in question was 146 levels below the surface when I hadn't dug more than maybe 7 floors down.  What's up with that?

The food thing isn't a bug.  As for the dwarf I guess he found a way down there.

But if he was down there, wouldn't it show the area he was in?  It just showed the blackness of undiscovered territory.

Are you sure it was one of your dwarves and not another creature fighting?

It said it was Charsi alright (named for the blacksmith in Diablo 2) and I compared the name to the Dwarf's name off the list.

I hope it's a female dwarf.   :-\

I dunno then, I've never had it happen

Yes, she's female.  I'm very careful about those things. ;)  I just found it weird and curious.  But the game is so complex in some ways that I'm sure weird things happen all the time.

It just happened again!  But when I zoomed into the dwarf in question, she was attending a combat demo.  I have weird, teleporting dwarven doppelgangers!
