I found out something today that I hadnt noticed in nearly a year of playing this game.

I wondered why all my dwarfs had suddenly stopped working, even though their were jobs stacked up in all the workshops and everything was accesible and there were no cancellation messages. It was like they were all suddenly on strike.

I went through all the steps I had taken to change anything recently, and the only thing I could think of was the stock screen where
I had forbidden certain types of stone that werent magma safe.

Turns out if you forbid a stone on the stock screen - you also forbid any workshop made from that material :O

It took me like an hour to work that out, not sure if this is working as intended or not, but I thought I'd let you know in case someone else like me or a new player more importantly is wondering why everyone is on strike all of a sudden

Yep. There's a thread or two in gameplay questions every week where someone wonders why their workshops aren't working any more, and someone else posts "you've been messing with the stock screen, haven't you?".

Which is why it's a good idea to make your workshops from Blocks.
