'Ability to butcher corpses with an appropriate tool'. What tool do I need to do this? It's done and released apparently but I've not heard anything about it other than very briefly on the devlog. Wouldn't mind adding to my list of horrendous happenings with a few eaten children 8)

What you NEEED to do is get a sharp object and press x while standing over a corpse, head, leg, etc. Choose the butchery option. That'll butcher the animal, giving you the same stuff you'd get had a butcher done this in fort mode.

It's saying "You are not that hungry" when standing over a child, though I can tell you I have a hunger which can only be sated via the thoracic cavity of a three year old.

From my understanding it's currently difficult (impossible?) to get adventurers to butcher creatures that speak regardless of supposed civ ethics and whatnot (the same way that it's impossible to get your adventurer to drink anything other than water and booze, regardless of whether you're actually carnivourous or whatever else).

Interesting. Did you generate a new world?

At least in fortress mode my modded dwarves happily butcher aspiring kobold thieves.

That's strange, i actually drank blood the one time when all my water was frozen.

What area is the "ethics" located? I'm looking through the 'creature_standard' file.

The butchering works fine, you just have to roam the wilderness some time until you become hungry.
