Gaudy only attracts rich people. Dark only attracts strange people. Light only attracts "good" people.

In other words, if you want the most customers, stick with the very neutral.

Atmosphere is affected not only by your decorations, but your stock as well, with different items giving a different bonus.

Edit: what you put in your windows affects who comes as well. For fun times, put ONLY sweets in your windows. You'll see a funny surprise

If you ever get the notice "book reading has experienced a surge..." Go out and buy AS MANY books as you possibly can. Then stock your entire store with ONLY books. It's awesome!

These things usually happen when you receive a news item regarding Housewives/man/girls where they are rabid about a certain item. Ie I had one where housewives were asking for all my treasure.

Some play tips.

Charme: Beat the second dungeon and wait for her to show up in your shop. Then sell things to her for a while. (items with +1-2-3 add extra affection so use them if you've get them). She'll give you her card after a while. Also after a bit more she'll also unlock the second dungeon.
Caillou: He'll show up asking for a charred newt (You get these from goblins), Slime liver(You get this from the slime boss on dungeon level 5 in jade way or the time attack) and a bat wing(From those flying jellow/green/etc eyeballs also in jade way). Have these items on hand and he'll show up eventually.
Lancer: Find her enough times in the dungeon and she'll show up eventually in your store. Raise her affection high enough by selling to her and you'll get her card eventually. (I think I found her only in jade way so I don't know if she'll appear in the second unlocked dungeon.)
Golem girl: She showed up in my store and I've increased her affection a couple of times but she hadn't given me her card. (Help?)
Elf archer girl: I think you have to see an event where she's hurrying after her elder sister in the town square first before you can get her. She's the boss at the end of the second unlocked dungeon. (floor 30). Haven't been able to card her.

Raising your merchant level is the key to higher profits. At certain merchant levels you get higher tier items in the store/market.
If you raise the the affection of a customer enough they will show a heart after a sale. This means that they will buy with a budget that is 10 times bigger then normal. Ie girl has a 600 budget at start. Raise her heart and she has 6000 to spend. I don't know if further heart's multiply it by 10 again or just the base by for example 20.

After you've finished the main game Ie pay the last 500k you make a newgame+ save. On the last day spend all your money that is above the 500k needed. Since money doesn't go over to the newgame+ but your items/merchant level/character level does.
Also you can get the true cards from the charme/etc after finishing the game. They enable you to use the card owner instantly in the game.
Ie I got charme's card and was able to use her to finish the starters dungeon (There was still louie's dialogue though ). I also fought with charme against charme at the end of jade way .

ripped off all the ruins stuff (lol i thought this ruins stuff should be plain or maybe a little evil-ish, turns out its all holy... should've asked the fairy earlier ) and the customers evened out again.


anyone else not exactly liking the dungeons?
I think they're really too much work for little gain. You may find some cool stuff, hey, i got a items worth 40k in 10 lvls of the amber garden once, but somehow it's still meh. I blame the inventory management. Can't see if stuff on the ground is +x without picking it, can't get stuff out of chests when the inventory is full... all for the next +0 wooden bracelet.
Also, bosses don't seem to drop anything. There's an option to bossrun, so where's the effing drops? Bossrun jade way, receive charred lizard that drops every few gnolls, gg. 20 items is a horrible restriction for fusions that at times want 10 ingredients, and that's just lvl1.
I've only seen 2 boss drops in about 20 fights, that's a slime liver and a crab shell.

well that's odd, my little girl has near pin bonuses at 100-103 and I've had a few just boni too. Also, they vary. I can get them about 30% of the time, but the same value% won't get the bonus on another item - or even on the same.

Near pins are random.

There's a japanese walkthrough somewhere but it's a bit outdated.This english version has more stuff.

In any case:

Empty: You only get Alma after you beat the game for real.

Actually, once you get to a certain point, dungeons give some neat items. But still, I do it mostly for fun and materials.

What I do mostly is exploit the low/high price changes. I put all blue items in the vending machine, since they get sold at base price and haggle only the red items.

Demo was quite fun.  I'll probably go buy the full version.

Incidentally, I managed to clear the first dungeon without additional food (food drops and levelups ftw).  So I was basically hawking stuff to Louie that he'd got all on his own :/.

I also didn't notice the pun until Tear pointed it out, since I assumed the C was soft .
