I'm in.
Thendash hasn't posted other than this, but he was the first post in the thread. That implies to me that he's had some experience or he's read previous games, because he knows the format. He was also eager enough to grab the first slot, but he hasn't posted other than that.
He also didn't make any jokes or comments (as most of the other posters did), which implies that he might be a bit more serious and introverted. It will be difficult to determine if he's scum or just a garden-variety lurker.
By other foot is fine.
Just one more....
Magwebster; random.org thinks that you are mafia. Are you?
USEC_OFFICER, on the other hand, was the second player to join the game and made a joke in his first post. First-time players don't tend to do that much. Overall, he radiates an attitude of eagerness to play, though on the other hand his use of random.org and naive administration of pressure imply that he hasn't played or even read many games. He may be in the forefront of the attacks, in the later game.
I hope it won't suck so much this time.
Inyways, I'm game.
Vector, if you were a mafia, who would you want to eliminate during the first night? Who would be your biggest threats in this game?
You appear to have some experience, and you're asking decent questions. I also see that you're playing Supernatural Mafia, which means that you're getting used to playing with the bigger fish in this pond. You also posted fairly early in the RVS, which implies that you're eager; a previous experience of a bad game might make you more prone to trying to create a good game (i.e., engagement in aggressive behavior).
I Hope I don't have to go around Marry'in everyone like I did in the last one.
Sloppy capitalization and further disdain for the last game played. He might just be a sloppy typer, but I'm guessing he'll also have a hard time learning the conventions of forum mafia. In my experience, sloppy typists also tend to be less active, require more replacing, and end up non-dangerous to either side in general.
On the other hand, I just checked his posts... and he's never played a game on the subforum. Interesting.
*COUGH*done*COUGH*
His second post in the thread also makes him look a bit arrogant. If he were playing scum, I'd expect a good deal of aggression, but a certain amount of naivete with it. Definitely doesn't seem cautious or prone to take others' advice.
Internet's working again.
You've seen me play. I'm not good. I've played four or five games, so if you don't want me in, it's okay.
Going to go to sports camp next sunday, not sure, if I have internet there.
Players who know they're bad tend to be particularly cautious, especially if he knows he's low-ranked within the general community. Caution means townies that are hard to read, which is always a plus for the scumteam.
Mudkinps
One of the guys who posts giant images and makes a lot of cultural references. These guys tend to be particularly bad players, as are any individuals that are too busy thinking outside the box to learn the game's particular eccentricities. This particularly follows given that he didn't bother to spoiler his images in the first place. His team is going to have a hard time.
Put me in if you really need another spot filled. I'm not quite so newbie any more, but I'd hate to see a game just short of full dragging out.
Rube, putting your name in red makes me think of LCS. Have you played it? Also, of the four possible non-vanilla roles in this game, which do you think is most important to its respective side?
Though Toaster is coming to this game as an experienced player (I think I might have IC'd a couple of his games, though I'm not sure), his introductory question still seems somewhat off-topic--almost as though he were attempting to introduce common ground between himself and Rube, who from my profiling would probably be the easiest to buddy up to of any of us.
Either Toaster is clever scum, or he hasn't quite figured out RVS yet. In either case, I'll be watching him.
Is this still on? Sorry, but there hasn't been a reply in 5 days, so...
If it is, I wouldn't mind joining as a beginner, if there are still slots free? Thanks.
Extremely passive.
That said, I was talking like this in the very first game I played here. Though I don't think he'd make a very strong townie this time around, he might be able to pull something off as scum.
