how do you get dwarves to equip clothes?

im wondering how to get dwarves to get new clothes after the rot off their body, its just not right!

half my miners walk around naked with a pick

i found a migrant in the fortress that only had a quiver equiped

none of my ~15 child dorfs have clothes!

Can you assign a civilian uniform? I've never tried, but tis worth looking.

You can put the dwarfs in a squad and assign them a uniform to wear instead of their civilian clothing.

I HAVE DWARVEN NUDIST COLONY

at least it seems like it some times with their cloths rotting off

I was a big fan of the nudist colony too.  Then somebody tracked some forgotten beast's ichor throughout my fort.

Now I'm a big fan of shoes and gloves.  Can live without the loincloths though.

That, and clothing works pretty well at preventing damage.
