Looking for a really old space exploration game
« on: July 12, 2010, 05:31:08 pm »

I have been trying to find a game i used to play as a kid, its a dos game from about 15 years ago in which you command a group of space travelers across a vast galaxy, it is a top down game that made a great impact on me and i really wanna see it again as i am thinking of starting to create something along it lines.

i think it was called Travelers, but it might just be us non-english speaking kids who called it that way.

Starflight?
Sequel?
Planet's Edge?
Just look on Abandonia.
You'll likely find it eventually.

Wow ... seems pretty interesting (and complex).

After reading your original post, I thought you are talking about Strange Adventures in Infinite Space (or the later Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space), an awesome and funny, quick, procedurally generated game by Electric Eel.

I tried playing the first Megatraveler. Never was able to get my party members to shoot, tho.

Creating your characters is the more fun part tho. Specially in Megatraveler 2.

Oh wow.  I hadn't realized Traveller as popular enough to have a computer game.

(EDIT:  Dammit.  DOSBox refuses to work on this computer, it keeps thinking my \'s are ]'s.  Also my right shift doesn't work.

Help?

Oh, I think I found something.

I have no idea what any of that means.  I don't want to mess with my drivers and stuff, as I am tech-inept.  Guess I'll just play it on my XP computer~)

I tried to play it, however it seems to be too old for my XP to run, and I have no idea where to find an Emulator. I just noticed my title, why is it different from everybody else's  :'(

What sort of emulator are you looking for? DosBox is fairly easy to use.

I just need an emulator so that I may run older games, and I seem unable to find any.

It certainly isn't. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Dosbox works fine.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.
