The Rincewind novels in the discworld series have been going downhill pretty steadily.  I'd have to vote against him.

Fair enough, though The Thing About Football, the Really Important Thing, is that the latest book was somewhat better for playing with new characters, and managed to still have some fun with the Wizzard.
