It pretty much follows the Epic of Gilgamesh and that guy is a demigod, so... yea.

Anyways, I agree with you, if we don't get more info on who Redmond is, Gilgamesh is probably going to win by default.

If that is true, then how about the allies of any other participant in this tournament? How about Mothra teamed with Godzilla? Pikachu teamed with Squirtle (or any of Ash's pokemon, or all of them even)?

But Gilgamesh's main asset is his possessions.  Which include his subjects. 

Of course it doesn't really matter considering that his swords are like an auto-shotgun that shoots cruise missiles.
