On the other hand, Batman's greatest enemy, who is still at large, relies on luck constantly; the Joker depends on luck for the great majority of his plans. Though Batman has foiled many o these plans, he has not yet caught nor killed the Joker.

He catches the Joker all the time. The Joker is just good at escaping. He might have killed Joker at the end of The Killing Joke. In some of the darkest Batman stories he does struggle with the notion of killing Joker to prevent the death of innocents.

That is all I know though.

He's actually a pretty crappy wizard. However Batman's major power is being able to avoid guns. This clearly involves latent magic, since Batman has no bullet-deflecting gadgetry. Rincewind can see magic, and therefor Batman's stealthy ways are no match for Rincewind blundering around until he sees purplish-green blobs in the shadows.
