Has there been any thought put into reducing the size of the soundpack for new players / repeat downloads / storage reasons / inclusion in eg LNP type packs?

I just saw this video, where he got a big reduction in size with minimal (negligible?) quality loss just by reducing the bitrate to a uniform 64kb/s.  I've asked about the actual pack size (not given) but it seems like a lot - the LNP it was part of went from 330 to 130 MB both compressed, so it seems likely to have reduced it by ~200MB.

I suppose music can be ommited or severelly reduced (i.e. song per season) - it is 250MB after all.

Hello, I launched the game and started soundsense on LNP, But heard nothing, So I thought i should update it, So its now requesting some files but its updating really slowly (at 15kb/s max) and im sure my internet could do much more, Is there a zip file i could download to skip this or something?

nvm, its picking up speed now after i let it download for a while

As a faithful Soundsense user I've noticed some seasonal tracks that were added a couple years ago have been removed in the more recent versions. Why were they removed and is there any way to get them back?

Well? Anyone still has got an old soundpack?

I found an issue. The volume seems to go down and get really weak after the program plays some SFXs. It seems to me like it forgets to turn the music volume back up after the sound effects get played. For me to listen any music sound at all I have to turn the computer master volume control all the way up as well as the soundsense volume control. The SFXs, though, are still as loud as ever, so it bothers me sometimes (I would like a way to turn down the volume for these sorts of things).

And if I start SoundSense after Dwarf Fortress, it won't play any music at all until the season changes. It is quite bothersome as sometimes it quits with some random error (trying to access not allowed memory, usually when the game log gets spammed with job cancellations or combat reports) and for me to listen to the music again I have to save and load again.

I think the achievements should be saved on a file with the world name, so it doesn't start all the way again in the same save file. These are great, really. I haven't revealed them all, but I'd like some secret fun stuff to come up. "Taming a dragon" and the like would be cool.

Other than that, I appreciate all the work you did. The songs are great and addictive. By the way, I am using standard Dwarf Fortress 2012 on a Mac OS X.6.8 Snow Leopard and Java 7.

I heard about that volume issue, but never reproduced it. Does it happen after any SFX? Always or nerver? Do SFX play at low volume too?

If you have dfhack, you can use soundsense dfhack script to tell it which season is active as well as activate other features. If you have that random errors, post em - it might get solved somehow.

Saving achiemvenets by world name is possiblity, but currently SS does not know much about game state. However, it could be remedied with dfhack script.

Thanks for songs go to Simon :-)

Sometimes this appears in the Terminal:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Also, I am  not sure if this is or isn't an issue, but I updated via SoundSense's pack update but I get the following in Terminal:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Times 1000.

I think if you add ((?!plant seeds).)*$ to the end of the job cancellation sound in the xml, it should work.
