non-kooky practicing Christians
The Reverand would probably count though, as well as Marge.

The whole Simpsons family seems to go to Sunday church regularily, or mostly regularily, but they aren't particularily religious.

We've been through this before - in media, religion is almost never mentioned because it's not often brought up in normal life unless the religious person is fanatical, and that's just extended.

Yeah, autoplay is really annoying. Luckily if you sell your soul to Google log in to YT it remembers and keeps autoplay off.
I could partially stomach this if it wasn't for the fact that sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't even there. It's like over at Google they have this special "just do annoying shit" lever they occasionally assign someone to pull just so they can watch the ensuing rage-fueled chaos and cackle madly while at it.

Google design team is worst,  news at eleven.
Joke's on you, we don't have news at eleven. Or is that joke on me. Bloody hell.

You... might just want to not list that, then. Especially if there wasn't any contract involved, in which case you might as well have been mowing somebody's lawn for pocket change for all the law presumably (I am not a lawyer) cares.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Oh joy. Sudden, no-warning-whatsoever overnight loads are something I want to receive a phone call about early in the morning.
Thanks boss, could you have given me at least a few hour's notice?

The only true way to deal with the cold is to use a flamethrower, obviously. Or just wear a comfy blanket everywhere in your house, that is also acceptable.

I'm here at the old place again.

My mom got off early and decided to pick me up from school and come back here because she's bored at our apartment. She needs a hobby.

The first thing that idiot does when we walk in the door is scream at me and my mom because my haircut is shitty. Seriously. Plenty of insults aimed at both of us.

Oh yes, so much better than being bored at the apartment, isn't it?

Not sure if she's stuck in some kind of stockholm syndrome cycle, but definetly stuck in a cycle, why do you and your mom keep going back over there?

I fail to see what would make her unbored at the old place. What did she usually do in her off time before she got into the relationship with that guy? Maybe she can do that? Unless it consisted of being a magnetized helicopter parent.

The simplest solution also comes up (other than stockholm syndrome due to its depth...): The lack of choices on what to do.
...Which is what BF mentioned ;P

Inspire thought perhaps? Home decoration? Puzzles with BlackFlyme? Family bonding?

Drought. Government did jack shit to prevent reservoirs from drying up. Now they are dry. They are dry and I had two power outages today and it is unbearably hot.

Nothing. She's never had hobbies. I even asked my nan what she did when she was a kid.

Her free time has been spent doing nothing but cleaning the house since she was young.
