I think the biggest red flag here is that these people still rent at video stores.

Back when we actually had internet, they just watched pirated movies on the computer.

But now we can't afford internet.

I don't want to go home anymore. I'm just too tired of this every stupid day. I'm honestly looking forward to going to work to get away from them, because then at least I can use my ipod on my breaks to get on the forum.

Also, I just realized I forgot to take my antidepressant this morning, but I don't think that really matters right now.

Dude, antidepressants are for internal causes of depression.

Perhaps you should eat the roommates. Then they will be internal problems, and your antidepressants may be able to treat the problem.

I am not going to eat my family.

Also, apparently we ended up missing a therapist appointment today.

Seems fitting.

What about the changing-the-lock idea?

Yeah, antidepressants are for treating symptoms. That's useful when the causes are biological and can't be treated, or when it takes time to remove the actual causes.
You need to start treating causes. By hitman, preferrably.

Yeah, seems pretty harsh - they'd have no place to sleep, after all.

...should I care about that? Sounds like they do nothing but take mastah for granted, so maybe a couple of nights on the streets will convince them to look for work and quit bitching that mastah isn't kowtowing to them enough.

I think he said they already did that so I don't think that's going to have the proposed effect.

Yeah, that's a problem. Once you accept the family, you're generally stuck with them unless you're willing to go through a divorce. It's bullshit, but assuming your spouse doesn't share your opinion on them, they'll basically say you should've said something when you got married and suchlike. It will be impossible to come off as reasonable, and there will be fights. Quite possibly relationship-ending ones.

Although, mastah, sounds to me like love isn't doing much to keep you there anymore. "Better than the physical abuse your biological family supplies" doesn't carry much weight when "Neither" is a viable alternative.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Masta, lemme get this straight, your biological family physically abuses you so you moved/Had to move to your wife's family, who/which uses your limited income to splurge on rented videos and fast food with the same judgement of a chipmunk and you, with depression, would feel too horrible to do anything about the situation you are currently in.

Now, with a shot in the dark here, do you have thoughts/fantasies about finally standing up against them and making them realise their folly?
