Nobody minds at all because you're an adorable animal!
You...you think so too?!
I always felt that way but didn't wish to expose myself out of the fear of mockery. Hurray for adorable animals!

Cute animals gotta stick together and make everyone think we're not also secretly delicious!
Actually, both cats and foxes are mostly inedible due to tasting like piss, or so I heard. But goblins are hardly picky creatures.

I think at some point when you're scraping meat from the bottom of the drop-chute and picking out the pulverized bones, you're not especially concerned as to which animal fell 50 tiles and splattered.

Which reminds me. Whenever I see a jar of pickled pigs' feet, I always wonder what the chances are to get all four of one pig's feet in a single jar? Is it most likely that you get only one foot from each pig?

Are there more than three feet in a jar?

I never felt the need to count. I'm not really their target market (as a person whose stomach twists in revulsion at the thought of eating one of those, like a horse bit me in the belly). But I guess more than four? After doing an image search I think it's really something that I won't subject you all to seeing. I saw dead baby piglets on a bed of lettuce.

Colleges. Or more specifically, parents re: colleges.

My parents want me to go to college, as most do. Yet every time I mention anything about wanting to go to X, my parents seem to effectively/softly/indirectly silence me by questioning every reason I have to go there and every aspect of the institution, even the things that are effectively universal about college (shitty 10 sq.ft. dorms, quantity of work, the fucking price tag). Then, the next day, they start harassing me about why I haven't made a solid decision on where to go, and why I'm not going to Y, which I never even applied to and have no reason to do so. This gets on one's nerves, especially when it's already March (though it feels like January) and I really do need to formally "decide", and they're not helping an ounce.

It's not about "tradition", as it sometimes is with parents who want their kids to go to the same school they did.
It's not about the price, because they have no qualms about me going elsewhere and the only places that are significantly less expensive are basically community college and a few meh-tier small public universities.
It's not even about what they think is "best for me" (or at least they haven't articulated that).
In fact, their reasoning is so obscure that this would be a clear fit for the WTF thread were it not for how annoying it is.

It does seem like an issue is bound for the Sad thread unless scary enough for Terrified, but if more irritated than scared it's Rage, and if inexplicable WTF even if Rage-worthy.

There is a Venn diagram in this or perhaps a radar chart.

Th4DwArfY1 has been struck down.

Remind me to sig this when I'm not about to fall asleep and can be bothered working my brand-new sigtext post.

Anybody else have family members that call you just for the sake of telling you that you are a terrible person?

I was just on the phone for over a half an hour with my grandmother.

I was just on the phone for over a half an hour with my grandmother.

Been there, done that. Been lectured/threatened/berated by perhaps most of the older members of my extended family. Everyone's heard about nenjin and what he's been doing, and has to have a little chat.

In the end, it's because they care and they hope their speech is the one that will "get through to you." Now, whatever they believe is wrong is a matter of perspective and culture. But still, it generally comes from a good place (although there are definitely exceptions.)

There comes a point where you're old enough, that they can see it in your eyes that their disapproval of you doesn't really affect you anymore. You get the self-confidence to brush off the criticisms you know are bullshit. You just have to weather the storm until then. The independence of being older means you start getting to set the terms of how you interact with everyone.

Assuming you are self-aware enough to know what you truly are fucking up, and trying to remedy that.
