My payee hasn't paid my phone and internet bill and now I'm being hounded by bill collectors. I don't like having a payee but unfortunately the United States government has deemed that I cannot handle my own finances so I must have one. Also right now I'm worried that my phone and internet might be shut off, and if that happens I will be pissed off beyond a reasonable doubt.

This damn sore throat. It's hard to breathe, and I haven't slept almost all week. Last night, it was down to a minor irritation, but a constant build-up of some kind of mucus. I managed a few bursts of sleep, but each time woke up almost choking on it. I might be fine by tonight, but goddamn I just want to sleep. Cough drops do nothing, and I ran out of Nyquil to drug myself to sleep.

Could always go old fashioned. Fill a sink with steaming hot water, put a towel over your head to trap the vapors, breathe deeply for a few minutes, hack up some mucus, repeat until you can't take it anymore. That might help clear you up enough to sleep.

You might also try some horseradish or chili peppers.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Does anyone know how to give a cat a pill, crushed or otherwise? It has turned out to be a very, very difficult endeavor.

Wrap it up in a bite-sized piece of meat. Works most of the time.

I've seen people use a wide straw, with another smaller straw inside of it. They place in the pill in the end of the larger straw, get the straw in the cat's mouth, and then you press the smaller straw down to pop the pill down the cat's throat.

It's only somewhat easier than trying to do it manually. But easier, with cats, is worth trying.

I'm having a day full of RRAAAAAAAAAGGGGE. Everything is just pissing me off to no end for no reason. I've been trying to write a paper and a presentation at the same time for hours, I'm sick with stomach problems, my daughter will not leave me alone, the apartment complex sent us a shutoff on the internet because of wonky pricing, and I'm not allowed to punch anyone.

This day is the fucking worst. I hate everything right now, and nothing's going to make it better.

I've had pneumonia multiple times and I approve this message.

Otherwise, buy medicine with guaifenisin in it.

Don't use a netti pot though... You don't want to catch a case of the brain eating amoeba.

Pretty sure that's not a problem if you use purified water.

okay wait what

This suggested remedy involves brain eating amoebas? Why was that not included as a side effect in the original suggestion?

Because, I'm not sure about this, but. I consider "Side effects may include brain eating amoebas" to be information pertinent to an informed decision. Yeah?

For the Neti pot, not for the hot showers whilst expectorating one.

Most neti pots I've seen at the local pharmacy come with packets that purify the water you use in them. I presume that brain-eating amoebas aren't a factor if you use the pots properly.
