Speaking of cats: I hate when they want attention when you're in the middle of something. Like, I'll be laying in bed, reading a novel, and one of the two cats we have at my place will come and sit on my chest.

Bleh, stupid week. Wedsneday, I find out during the same conversation with my mother that my little sister is pregnant and that my grandmother died(on my dad's side. Mom's mom died a few years ago). Now, I don't feel anything at all about my grandmother and am completely unaffacted by her death(never met her, as far as I remember), but it still caps on to a long, irritating week.

Oh, and I think my N64 died. I plugged it in after a long period of not using it, and all that happens when it turns on is the screen sorta glows green a bit. Not sure if it's the A/V cables, the power cable(which I had to mess with just to turn it on), or the console itself, which I can't open to check since it doesn't have proper screws. And I'm pissed, since yesterday I managed to aquire Mariokart64(which I lost a long time ago), Mario Tennis, and Pokemon Snap(which I hear is impossible to emulate, not that I can download from emulation sites from the library).

They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I told them I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard.
... Yes, the hugs are for everyone.  No stabbing, though.  Just hugs.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I don't know how anyone could possibly think Fox liberal. Unless they call Fox posers, or something.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
