I've had kangaroo tail. Kinda rubbery (in an odd case where cartoon physics meets RL).

Also alligator (bleah...too fishy), rattlesnake, buffalo, jellyfish (tastes like stinging!), sea urchin, sea cucumber, eel, snake wine, elk, antelope, and witchitty grub. Had the opportunity to eat dog in Beijing, couldn't bring myself to it.

Resisting... urge... to... make... joke...

Okay, done.

Anyways, can't you just get an animal you haven't eaten? Ferret, perhaps? Sibfox? Squirrel?

Alternately, have pets with the express intent of eating them, like chickens or rabbits. :P
Or a lobster.

We're actually hoping to start raising a couple of hens in the backyard this summer, if the new town ordinance allowing chickens passes. yay fresh eggs!

My mum has chickens, theyre easy to keep and give so many eggs :/

Oddly, especially considering my aversion to seafood, shark is delicious. It's somewhat sweet, and the piece I had was very tender and juicy. I need to wade into the sea and beat up all the large predators. :P

I'm so jealous. The most unusual things I've ever eaten was bear and bison.

The bear that I had was...not good. Then again, the animal in question was quite old, something like 10 years old. Animals are best when the meat is young.

Also, as far as eating dog goes: Don't do it. Your stomach and bowels will thank me, trust me.

Saying you can't form an attachment with a ferret because you ate a skunk is like saying you can't form an attachment with a human because you ate a pig.

Which may very well be your view! :P

But I don't know - I always get attached to me delicious basil plants, and I'm sure most people have at least tasted some sort of human fluid . Not sure why having tasted something is a barrier to emotional attachment with the animal it came from.

Plus, clearly you need to get a squid. Or an octopus, maybe?

Usually, it's because I look at an animal, and I start thinking of ways to cook it. Can't help myself. I shouldn't be around animals because I inadvertantly put them in danger.

Also, yes. EAT ALL THE ANIMALS!

I need to try elephant. And giraffe.

I've had snail and frog. Both are pretty good if cooked correctly.

The escargot I had was rubbery. Maybe it wasn't cooked right?

Well, you've had all these animals - surely you've had one you disliked, right? Didn't you say you wouldn't want to eat dog again?

The key is to get one of those as a pet, knowing it doesn't taste good. OR get something that's just really stupid to even try to eat, like a small songbird. (all bones and feathers! Not worth the effort to cook!)

The only thing is, I'm so busy right now that I don't have time for a pet. I have a three year old kid, isn't that enough? :P

Probably. Should be tender to the tooth (and literally drowning in butter) if it was done right. They may just have undercooked them.
