To further drive in my hatred for my current English teacher (only 7 weeks left, I can do it!), she gives me a 6/10 on notes.
Notes that I copied ad verbatim in my notebook, taking up three and a half pages.
Probably some shit about 'oh, I can't read them.'
For fuck's sake, they're noooootes.
The only person who needs to read them is me.

I have an absurd level of rage saved up for English teachers. It's like they are not allowed to teach anything with substance, so make up for it with arbitrary rules.

This pisses me off to no end.
This made marginal sense when I thought they were talking about the kind with a base, meaning they're sitting on the street, not just next to it.

Now it seems like they're outlawing mailboxes. Huh?

I don't really object to the pole ripping. I'm not a safety worker, so it is not my area to decide if they were a threat in any way. However the conduct portrayed by all officials involved was deplorable, bordering on what you would expect in some evil dictatorship, where rights are secondary to orders.

I have had some really good English teachers in the past.
8th and 9th grade were super-duper awesome.
But this one, noooo...
She is hardly even qualified to be an English teacher.
She can't spell, has shitty grammar, is horrendously inconsistent in her grading, and picks books because she likes them, not because they're relevant.
To be honest, she just Gerald Forded into being an English teacher.
Now, Sensei on the other hand...
His spelling and grammar are perfect, even if his vocabulary is about 10 years outdated (it's okay, I can fix that by watching animu).
Also, he plays all sorts of instruments and writes poetry in Japanese.

Hmm, 'picks books because she likes them', has the possible implication of a bigot who is is certain that their taste in books in better then others, and the only reason that the class would not enjoy such books is because "they are just dumb kids who don't know a good book when it hits them in the for head". Although I could be mistaken, but I have had more then one English teacher like that.

I never had a good English teacher, hated them all with a passion.

If it had been there for sixty years, cars probably haven't been hitting it every moonless night.

This pisses me off to no end.

The problems I see:

1.  They confiscate the pole.  There's no justification for that.  If they're worried someone might plant it right back where it was, they can always check back periodically.  It's no different from someone planting a new pole in the old spot.

2.  Blondie's inexcusable behavior, between the bald-faced lie, threats, and demanding the family not remain outside (if I heard that right, anyway).

Infuriating as it may be, this sort of thing is par for the course, really.

I have had good English teachers. Not many, but they were there.

Fun fact: The earth only appears to be millions of years old because god made it that way as a test of faith! Let's face it, if you make a force all powerful, you can use it to negate any point, argument or observation, and zealots will think themselves 'smart' and 'wise' for doing this, despite the fact that it proves nothing.

Do note: every single book has been in Oprah's Book Club.
All of them.

Meanwhile, watched that basketball thing.
What.

Fun fact: You can use this the opposite way to get zealots to accept evolution. Just say that God set up the system and nudged it every so often towards a certain result.
