Exactly! There is a chance of a fireball shooting from my hand. I set that probability to 100%. Still, non-cheat power: technopath. For the awesome.

My uncle and two cousins definitely aren't in it for helping people. I love them dearly, but they can be asses. They are in it for cash, through and through.

They're far from the only ones. I know a lot of non-asses who do it to help people, just like I know engineers who actually want to build things. But damn, well over half the people are smart ones who want the jobs with the highest pay. Few years ago, there was a big controversy about how many clinics strongly suggested unnecessary surgery (Caesarean sections) because they're a way to make extra money. It's no coincidence that the rate is so high in private clinics.

There's also some regard to it being "simpler", which also plays a role in that increment. Likely a large one, as public hospitals have also seen an increase in c sections

This is part of the problem. If you "can't be bothered" to say what all you do, then lots of people aren't going to pay much attention to you.

In other words, you sit around thinking about how awesome you are.  And occasionally getting sanctimonious to other people about how awesome you are and how they should admire and emulate what you imagine yourself to be.

Every single EFFECTIVE way to actually make the world a better place that I have ever heard of, and I have heard of pretymuch everything...

I genuinely feel bad about this, because I know beating up on people makes Toady angry.  But some of these are just too gob-smackingly outlandish to let go.  I'm only human.
