Ok, I did some experiments, and I realized that the research yield that I am getting is that of one lab, along with the expense of one lab.  The game simply is wrong when it says that I have three labs.

My problem was that I thought labs only gave 50 research, but they in fact give 100 at full health and loyalty.  My research is around 90, which is appropriate for my situation.

Houstan we have a problem The Nova website is down, I can't get the escape from earth download.

I don't have the EFE self extracting archive any more, so the above link gets you the whole EFS folder, already patched, modified with EFE, and ready to play.

Back in the day, when the internet connection 'round where I live was rather scarce, I got myself most of the stuff from NOVA website to peruse offline, including the technology, harvest and unit charts, as well as a page or two describing the mod.
I did the same with HYPERION, and I still have those file.

Unfortunately, I did not save the "house rules" page, which can make our game(s) somewhat problematic. If somebody does have that somewhere, do be kind enough and upload/post them.
