I dislike how diabolical that sounded...

And I love it!

Okay, some bad news on the home front.

Apparently everywhere on campus closes early in the summer. That means that getting online outside of work hours is proving incredibly difficult, and at work I'm usually pretty busy. I can easily spend a minute throwing the next event out for the Choice, but that is a lot more low-maintenance than this thread.

So, I'll do what I can, but I'm not promising anything until I find a reliable internet connection.

Why is the robot being sold when it isn't really done? It still requires the laptop to do mapping or navigation, and if we want it to be controlled remotely we still need to engineer that. If we do find a way to give it its own brain, we would still need to program it to be more like a toy, since bumping around and mapping aren't very fun.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Hmmm, good idea. We should do that at some point.

Okay, I've been getting online a bit more regularly as of late, but I haven't continued the game because I don't know how much longer that will last.

But whatever, time to update!

Action 25
After your bean breakfast, you finish up a few simple tasks online. You secure a basic bank account, though you don't yet have any money to put in it, using a fake name and credentials. The site itself isn't super secure - but for you, that's only a bonus. You're pretty sure you could break into the system and cover your tracks if you ever need to.

You also find some pirated psychology books online, and set to work downloading them. Unfortunately, it will take a while.

While doing so, your computer screen flickers a bit. Odd. There's also a few moments involving graphical artifacts, and your browser crashes once. Very odd - definitely something you're going to have to take a look into later.

You spend some time looking online for cheap parts sources, and you find a couple local places that sell junk you might be interested in, as well as a number of cheap online retailers. By the time you've tired of that, your psychology books are downloaded. You look them over and get a feel for them - yes, they should do well enough.

Suddenly, your computer throws up a number of error messages, and with a painful screech promptly dies. You press the power button a few times, but to no avail. You then notice that part of your computer appears to be on fire, and assume that your hardware was apparently not up the quality of your software.

The cafe should also be open now.

What do you do?

We should probably put that fire out.

Gotta remember that it is our cousin's. Don't think she would be happy that we let her computer burn.

Remember also to include instructions on how, exactly, you plan on putting it out.
