I'm think of running a PbP D&D game on these here forums.

Most likely 4th edition, but if I get enough serious* requests for 3.5, then I think I can handle it.

This is mostly here because of a couple of people who posted in the Sad Thread lamented not being able to play/organise real-life D&D games, so those people have priority, since this is mostly for them.

As for setting, that depends on which edition we go for.

*Don't just post to go '4e suks its for fags and WoW-fags and its gay' or equivalent. This isn't a debate, it's a thread for checking interest.

I love 4e.  Do 4e.  I might play, but really, PbP?  PbP D&D is a bad idea, from what I've seen.

Pbp=bad
4E=bad
3.5=good

I think four E is too cookie cutter and limiting but I can live with it if that is what happens so in ether way.

Also if Armok joins he has to be a neutral good non cleric. You will all thank me later.

Only in the same ways 3.5 is. If the player doesn't have the imagination to come up with something that isn't covered by their powers, then that's the player's fault, not the systems.

If you don't like the idea of every class getting these powers, think about Tome of Battle for a moment. And if you think it's bad that wizards got reigned in, remember how game-ruiningly broken they were. All 4e really did was nerf the big sixes brokenness, swap who makes the rolls when it comes to certain attacks, and gave tier 4's and under options other than charge, full attack, grapple, trip, run away, and die.

I'll play. I would prefer 3.5 due to the larger variety of spells, but I'm fine with either.

That is not "all" it did and I am quite flabbergasted that you even say that. Anyway fighters can be fixed and wizards can be nerfed, or you know, just get every one to play on the same tier. Also screw the people who play wizards and totally break the game in games that they are not suppose to.

Can I play? I am so very sad about not being able to play D&D :'(.

Even if I've barely played any at all.

And the little I did was 3.5.

And I'm not very experienced at roleplaying anything other than chaotic neutral

Is it bad that I thought the "Hugs and Kisses Elemental" was a Gibbering Mouther?

I ran a 1-shot 4e campaign on the forums some months back, using Maptool. It's some fantastic stuff, and great for running D&D live over the web. Still got a folder full of map tiles for constructing your own dungeons and everything. You should check it out if the PbP thing is making folks a bit iffy.

Also, you should totally run Pathfinder instead of 3.5 OR 4e, but that's just me!

I don't have a chunk of time big enough to run an IRC/Gametable/Maptools game in. That's why it will have to be PbP.

By chaotic neutral, doyou mean lolsorandum?

If anything, PbP is more time consuming than regular, it's just all spread out.  It takes days to run a single encounter.

It's not that I don't have the time, it's that isn't much of it grouped together in big lumps.

I mean like an average person. Although that's probably more true neutral. So yeah, neutral.

Yeah, just average person would probably be neutral or neutral good.  Chaotic Neutral characters tend to be retarded.

Unless you play them right, but that is hard to do.

PbP is fine with me.
