This whole chapter has been.....damn. Talk about building up hate for a character, and then systematically breaking that character in such a way that you feel bad for hating them.

I'll quit hating him the minute he explains what justifies everything he's done since showing up, and it's better than "For her own good, to protect her from the vaguely-defined dangers of her heritage".
