I find it very hard to believe that any one man could make DF with out the powerful OOP language that is C++, but then again, toady isn't a man, he is a god king of the highest order.

Yes we need to convince him to either learn modern programing techniques, or find a programmer to work with him on the project.  His insistence on using only C is what is slowing down development.  He is making 10 times more work for himself.

Where did you get this idea?  Don't spread unsubstantiated rumors, please.  Here's a completed dev item which illustrates he's using C++:

For the curious, he uses MSVC, although that may change after the 40d# merge.
