Okay, seeing as this happened in the city over before I moved away, I really should have been caring more about it, but at this point, I can pretty much count on both sides of this acting like complete idiots. Hamas and (the government of) Israel make me lose faith in humaities ability to forgive each other, and I just wish they'd keep others out of this.

Old news...although Britain just kicked out some Israeli official which is new news.

It's nice to see the world getting a little bit tough on Israel, although the US's idea of "tough" on Israel is still comparable to that of an indulgent parent.

"Ok, you can't have any candy if you're going to keep hitting your sister. Oh, what's that, you're still hitting her? Well...here, have some candy anyway so you know I love you."

No surprise they're still blithely building settlements, they know as well as anyone there's no pressure to stop from the only country with influence over them.

The whole Mossad assassination thing was pretty fucking badass, pretty much straight out of a movie. And hell, by Israel's usual standards of horrifyingly evil crimes against humanity, it's really not that bad at all. Funny how building in territory that actually sort of is legitimately theirs, and whacking a known terrorist, get people mad at them, but building in territory that absolutely isn't theirs, and killing and oppressing hundreds/millions respectively, of civilians, just gets some grumpy pseudo-scolding from the rest of the world.

Yeah, I don't think our foreign ministry was overly thrilled with the Israeli secret services cloning a set of (apparently random) British passports for use on an assassination mission.  Partly because, if news of the cloning hadn't got out, Britain could well have been accused of the assassination.
