okay so Main halls in camps act like retire spawns and if you say happen to set one in the caverns then retire you stay in the caverns, if you set one in the surface you can while in the caverns retire yourself back to the surface.
which saves me some Backtracking to a Dwarf fort to climb some ladders.
operation oceancamp kinda hitting some Building snags like the game crashing constantly. my guess is if you try to build in an area you can't see the game doesn't know how to handle that.

Works the opposite way too. Retire on the surface and you'll unretire underground.

Funny thing is when I visited the surface of another adventurers underground camp, the other adventurer was up on the surface slaying keas. Maybe he was after more wood (surface wood counts the same as underground wood for underground building).

I've also got a resident cave swallow woman (npc) who appears to be living some way above the surface sniping passer-bys with her blowgun.

yeah really wish I can recruit the animalmen that hang out at my camp now that I surface but currently dealing with trying to build in the ocean but game keeps crashing problems.
so uhh went back to check on my site and notice the ocean completely destroyed my site like there nothing of my huge building branching off the beach.
I'm probably going to wrap up this save learning the lesson that is Don't try to build in the ocean.

edit: so new world new building idea this time I realized I could build a hut out of ice if I have 1 minecart and reactions for making 7/7 water
though my main idea is to obsidian case a house but I don't have a proper magma distribution system that doesn't burn you completely to death.

Yep, it's a two-week shortcut. o3o

Another reason I wish we could build minecart tracks and trackstops at our Adventure sites. Also statues, I want to be able to build the statues I collect killing crazy monsters.

Not sure how to get around the whole burning to death thing without some modding. Either adding in a creature made out of magma safe stuff and an adventure reaction to make magma to use making the site. Or a secret/curse that gives you an interaction to spatter some magma at the desired location from some kind of distance. Not sure the interaction would even work, as I don't know how much "liquid" the SPATTER_LIQUID breath attack actually spatters.

I'm not even sure how you dump out a minecraft load personally without the risk of it freezing and telefragging yourself.

EDIT: Meanwhile in adventure mode, after a brief retirement and exploration in fortress mode...got the gang reassembled, and now we see a curious ruin not far from our camp. And then...eggplant brute intercepted us out of fast travel.

Speaking of loads like in Minecraft's player inventory and chests. I wager I had to drop at least about a 2000-3000 oak logs with a macro set to one millisecond just so I could cheat and get all important skills up for my outsider Ischroboar, doubt even a minecart in Minecraft (or is it Minecraft in minecart at this point?) can hold THAT much.
Took some time dropping ALL of those logs even with the macro "drop shit2" which I think drops like 5-9 items at once each 99 times the macro auto initiated IIRC.

Won't be using those logs though as I have two new custom and exclusive to me tree types meant for my building pleasure, how do I get to those trees? I don't, I spawn their wood logs by reaction-spawn-crafting when I have enough raised dead to build my thing up in a short amount of ingame time. Yes, I modded in custom necromancy too along with a new version of a maul: molth, both Drolth-sword and Molth-maul are about 3.0-3.2 fast from the regular 1.0-1.2, they are weapons infused with unknown element that makes using them faster.

Anyhow I pretty much destroyed a bandit's upper spine with my ☼bismuth bronze molth☼ and chopped all of their heads off with my ☼bismuth bronze drolth☼, four bandits who I all talked with before their deaths to know their names, one of them was a sleeping bowman who's bow I had to grab and pull 'Cave-in-Wake-the-Fuck-Up-Strike', surprisingly it worked! He woke up! All the bandits were humies and Drog Akbaa the ischroboar had no real sympathy for them after getting into an argument with a bandit who kept believing the value of truth as an idiotic idea to which 'Akbaa' snapped after too many failures and hacked his guts out and then some of his limbs off until finally sweeping the moron's head off (that's what you get when you piss off the Lord of Rage), I felt quite in character and that's why I offed the rest of them. Good thing I did as now I'm seen as a protector of the defenceless AND I have some dead bodies along with their limbs to do my slave labor. Need more dead bodies though, need at least 10-20 more of them to cull down the time it takes to build my structure and it saves me from bothering finding living recruits.

And a thick stick at that! :D Here are its raws:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I imagine that maul being slightly shorter from the default maul with a bit bigger hammerhead and a thicker shaft where it's attached to so it's basically a Mjölnir on steroids except with much longer handle (I've always prefer a two-handed version of Mjölnir).

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I was able to make one of the bandits be propelled away by both drolth and molth's heavy attacks to the lower and upper body. :o

I was actually talking about this thing:

I have died dozens of times.

EDIT: Had to run. Left my comrades behind, save for one lucky bastard who ran like a pussy earlier. Only 2 or 3 were left anyway. Change of plans it seems.

A new day, and a new adventurer! Checking out my surroundings it seems that my starting location is a medium sized hut.
Filled with peasant skeletons. Um. OK...

I was actually talking about this thing:

Oh, yikes. o_O

Anyhow, can't help but feel I left something important to mod in: Fireball interaction that would make foes caught in it catch fire and melt parts of their body. Like those Imps from Doom 1 (nope still haven't played the new Doom).

Yus. Add fireball-throwing imps. Hell, see if you can mod in archviles.

Meanwhile...wut. Woah. Bosa cloned herself, and Mafol somehow found herself here at this hamlet.

Heh, nah. Maybe much later as my demonic wild boar (wo)man is already something that should resemble an imp from the first game in terms of color (mahogany fur, chocolate skin, yellow eyes, white on the tusks), all that's missing is the fireball ability. For me personally things don't always need to be 100% one thing, if a new thing has a similar nostalgic vibe to it then heck yes.

well I know a way to move faster than water freezing a way that's faster than 9.900 speed.
let just say I know some minecart strats
ended up having the spider-lady let go of the pillar and fell into the magma once and needed to fast travel.
but yeah the way I did it is drop the magma 3000 over the hole, then scoop it up with the minecart since it's a liquid, then move over to the hole again and drop the minecart magma which turns into 2/7 of the stuff.
the trick to avoid burning is to build a safety minecart for getting into.
you can get into a minecart from anywhere if your just adjacent to it. it was how I 'climb' before climbing was in by throwing minecarts up 1 zlevel high areas and ride in them.
kinda realized getting 7/7 magma is way to
possibly could use magma as a heater for this cold cold site I build. maybe build a magma moat.
oh god this task is extremely deadly either you could screw up and get burned, or you screw up and get iced.
